LDF’s “Hibernation before Shutdown”

It goes without saying that the UDF has no role in the recent order by the Supreme Court and the Election commission to stop providing rice for Rs.2. What UDF was against was that, when there is an identification card, the LDF was going from door to door and started distributing another application form. The UDF government introduced the scheme of providing rice for Rs.3 for 25 kg, and the LDF government was hibernating all this while and suddenly woke up just before the elections. The people of this state know very well that this is a ploy by the LDF to entice the people.

LDF has become a subject of mockery in the state, which can be attributed to this political drama. For the past five years the performance of LDF government was loathsome. They never claimed the rice and wheat allocated by the central government. When they took it, all they did was selling it at a higher price and were interested in making huge profit. They were least bothered about the poor and needy of this state, rather were interested in creating anti-central government sentiments. Now the LDF tries to paint a picture for themselves as the servants of the poor and needy.

This LDF government resold the food grains allocated towards the lunch for school children for a price of 5 crore! During Onam, when the price of commodities was high, the LDF government took just 570 tonnes of rice among the 50000 tonnes allocated by the central government to the state. Just 13,706 tonnes of wheat was taken from the allocated 25000 tonnes by the LDF. It is because of the central government’s subsidy that the grains can be distributed at such a lower price.

The LDF is trying to lag the Food Security project by raising fingers at non-issues. The proclamations of the LDF are without any sincerity and their only aim is to rake up hatred against the central government for things that they did not do. The people of this state will repay the LDF government for their wrongdoings.
