The coming assembly elections will see a repeat performance of the UDF like that of the Lok Sabha and Panchayat elections. People’s anger towards the VS government will get reflected in the ballot. The people of Kerala are fed up of five years’ mis-governance and non-governance. The LDF government was a failure in all fronts. Their main job was to concoct spicy stories of alleged corruption by UDF leaders. Those stories won’t sell.

I can assure you that UDF will put the state on a development trajectory. It has put ‘Development and Care’ as the prime movers. It will make Kerala the number one state in the country and redefine and restructure the service sector, especially education, health and tourism sectors.

The UDF manifesto places Agricultural development in priority and proposes a series of measures aimed at the improvement of small farmers. If you read through the 43 proposals mooted specially targeted for agriculture you will notice that the incentives and support measures proposed are unprecedented in the history of Kerala.

The UDF has also proposed a whole lot of measures aimed at the overall development of the hilly and coastal regions of the state. 24 solid proposals meant for the transformation of the industrial sector have been proposed in the Manifesto. These proposals were made after a series of deliberations with the key stake holders and the industry. Large scale Investment is our immediate requirement and the UDF will put in maximum efforts (through the good offices of the central government as well) to bring in higher investment to the state and thereby generate more employment opportunities for our young and educated youth.

Ten innovative proposals have been made in the Manifesto to improve the traditional sectors of the State which is in dire straits now. This is in addition to the proposals for Handloom and cottage industry sectors. A number of development activities are proposed covering all sectors of the State.

UDF, I can assure you, will bring back Kerala its lost glory and lead the state to a glorious future. I request each one of you to support and vote UDF.
