The trend kicked off by the LDF of taking people into police custody and torturing them to death has not yet ceased even at the time of stepping out from the government. The custody death of a man in Trivandrum that happened recently substantiates the inhumane approach that the home ministry has been undertaking on such affairs. To protect the law is what the forces are for and not for taking lives.
In first month after the LDF came to power, the first custody death was reported, initiating the never ending toll which followed throughout the following 5 years. The inefficiency shown by the home ministry in handling the police force became a matter of much discussion in the state and the government was forced to appoint a committee to investigate on custody deaths. The compensation money suggested by the appointed committees never reached the respective families of the victims either.
Even as the toll stands at an alarming number of 23, the government is unmoved, unresponsive and silent on the topic. Police force has been forced to malfunction by channelling their service for party interests. According to the national crime records bureau Kerala is top in the crime rate and that is certainly the last thing we want our state to be known for.
And it still stands unexplained why the “Gundalist” which had got 3600 criminals behind the bars during the UDF was reworked and now only monitors 374 criminals only. These criminals are out in the open, posing threat to the community and that explains the astoundingly increase in crime rate in the state. The state has witnessed 1435 murders in the last 5 years and now you may have clearly understood what caused this.
LDF’s amity with the criminals is a known fact and in the past 5 years LDF has been consistently returning the favour to these dreaded criminals to whom they are so soulfully indebted to. The truth stands tall and speaks for itself and it’s time people realise the fact that
“LDF is the biggest mafia in the state”.
Do you want your children to grow up in such an anarchic environment?
